Orifice Plate Flowmeter
Orifice plate flowmeter, also known as differential pressure flowmeter, consists of a primary detection part (throttle part) and a secondary device (differential pressure transmitter and flow indicator). Widely used in flow measurement of gas, steam and liquid. It has the advantages of simple structure, convenient maintenance and stable performance. The basic principle is that because the aperture of the throttling member is smaller than the inner diameter of the pipe, when the fluid flows through the throttling member, the flow beam cross section suddenly shrinks and the flow speed accelerates. The static pressure of the fluid at the rear end of the throttling member decreases, resulting in a static pressure difference before and after the throttling member (see the schematic diagram of the throttling device). There is a definite numerical relationship between the static pressure difference and the fluid flow rate through which the fluid passes. Use a differential pressure transmitter (or differential pressure meter) to measure the differential pressure before and after the throttling member to measure the flow rate.
